A broken marriage. A new job. She works as a Personal Assistant on the ForNoah Youtube channel. Noah is on the autistic spectrum and she fixes things for him. He's a shipwright and creates beautiful works of art. She's a woman starting over who meets a man trying to start. This is their story. -Excerpt- "Having Asperger's is like being a tiny sailing boat in a big stormy sea," Noah says in his deep voice. "A boat like this one?" "Yes, except the sky is dark with storms all around and huge waves." "I don't like storms, I go to mom's room when a storms come and..and," he frowns at Noah, worry spreads across his little face. "You should go to my mom's room when storms come. You can hide under the covers. She says it's ok for big boys to be scared sometimes." Noah holds his breath in a valiant attempt not to laugh. "Eh, baby, he's a bigger boy so, he braves the storms," I say to him. "But the sea is real big mom." His wide eyes look around the boat. The big blue sea goes on for miles in both directions, not a soul except for Noah, my son, my daughter, and myself. He's right it is lonely. New Heights
I felt his hand as it gently pushed the strands of hair that were blocking his view of my face, behind my shoulder. The action caused his fingers to involuntarily graze my jawline and neck making me stiffen. The short contact left my body feeling warm and my breathing to suddenly turn irregular. "I think you look beautiful." He said in that deep, soft voice that made me feel funny. I could still feel his fingers in my hair as they now seemed to instinctively move around the strands. "Thank you.." I whispered, surprised at how softly it came out. Could he even hear it? "My pleasure mamas." He replied, giving me my answer. The words leaving his lips sounded so good that I had to look to make sure he'd actually said them. Before I knew it my body was slowly leaning towards him and even in my dazed state I didn't miss his inching towards mine. • • • Follow Athena Kingman as she experiences life and love in ways that she's never imagined before.
