Asama Pointe-Kumaki has never truly fit in. While also being a Five, she's Muslim during the war between Illéa and New Asia, which casts her out of normal society. However, when the Selection arises, a chance for change is all Asama needs to be swept into a world full of expensive food and glittering ball gowns. But, the image of the palace soon changes with the threat of rebels, envious girls who would stop at nothing for the crown, and a prince, who doesn't seem interested at all in his Selection. Can Asama fight against these perilous trials? Or will she forever be known as the Muslim girl from Sumner?
