"Why do you wear leg braces?" the kid asked me, his cute brown eyes staring up at me. "Mathew!" His Mom scolded. "Don't ask questions like that." She glanced at me and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, miss." I shook my head. "Its not a problem." I attempted to squat, so I could meet the boy's eyes. "Mathew, I wear leg braces to help me balance better. They also help me walk faster and have better endurance." "Woah." His voice was filled with wonder. "So with your braces, you're like a superhero!" I laughed sincerely. "Something like that." ***************************************** Lila Emilia Sullivan has a type of Cerebral Palsy. Masks

This is the second book to Barriers {damirae} so if u haven't read that one some stuff in this one won't make sense so I sagest u read that one first. --------------------------------------------------------------------- "I wear a mask. Not to hide but to protect, protect people from getting hurt. It consoles and hides away all the emotions I keep at bay. I wear a mask. It is stained black and seeping through all the emotions I hide from you. Distorted and can't make out All these shadows that lurk about. But though the eyes you can see a hint at thy you can perceive. Nothing left... I'm inside out. And now i see that the mask itself... was meant for me. Sometimes you wear a mask for to long that you forget who you used to be beneath it all. In all this confusion one thing holds true, my feeling for you. So when I say I love you. I don't expect to hear it in return. I just want you to know I Love you not for how you danced with my angels. But for the way you calmed my Demons." ~ Robin
