"Even more than I did Five years ago." He replied smirking up at her with a lifeless smile.

Caine had suffered all his life. Not only did he open his eyes to meet nothing but darkness he was born in it. Of it. Moulded by it.
Though in his childhood years ever since he was a little boy a little not so innocent girl named Grace tried all in what was in here to make him smile and to make him happy.

Having the will power and the determination of a goddess. When everyone gave up on the little boy she was the only one that believed. But due to circumstances the two twelve year old best friends have to say their final painful goodbyes as he has to leave with his foster parents. Leaving the only person that made him smile behind.

Five years later he returns back in town. More brutal. More lifeless. More violent. And filled with more hate than he ever did before.

"You've changed." She gave him an innocent smile.

"That's what life does to you my princess. It changes you." His husky voice echoed through her ears as she realised all her hard work years ago had came crumbling down.

Now Grace has more work to do that ever before as she is determined to make a guy that has lost faith in the world and in humanity believe not only in the world again but love that he never had a glimse of...

The question is will she succeed or is she just wasting her time on a useless cause?
