"I need answers, Pat," is what Pran manages to say. "Everything hurts and I don't know why," he chokes out. "And then-and then Sun just barges in here and tells us that the person-the person who owned that amulet, committed a sin," he curls a finger over the amulet that rests between them, shaking his head desperately. "What sin was it, Pat? What sin did I commit to face a death like that?" Pat smiles, but Pran could smell the salt of his tears even if he couldn't see them in the darkness of his room. "I think we both know the answer to that, Pran," he forces out. But Pran is stubborn, he's adamant, he's desperate. He wipes away the tears that trail down Pat's face, cupping his neck firmly enough to look him in the eye; "That's not enough," he whispers. "It's not-I need, I need to find the answer behind all this. Behind this," he tugs the chain.
