They wanted super soldiers who will unquestioningly bend to their master's whim. Instead, what they got are sleepwalking monsters that act only on two instinctive urges - to kill and to consume. Their hope now rides on the only subject who showed some promising results during the experimentation. If only they could get him to abandon his freewill, only then can he be considered a qualified success.
I am Hunter (not my real name), 19, and I am that stubborn unbending subject. As soon as I learned of their dreadful plans for me, following numerous failed brainwashing attempts, I made my hasty escape and took on a new identity. But apparently those mad scientists will stop at nothing to get me back, and finish what they started, even if it means the undoing of humanity as we know it.
Somehow, I find myself reluctantly leading a group of survivors through this ruined world. These people are the closest thing I have to a family now. And though I lack some confidence in my leadership skills, I have sworn to take care and protect them even at the cost of my own life. I just pray that they'd never find out about my secret. And if they do, I hope that they don't hate me for it.
