In the village of Valhaven, the fortune-teller's daughter knows a thing or two about how to con and deceive people. When her mother has clients, she's the mystical and marvellous Esmerelda, but outside of her workplace she's steaming drunk and violent Emmy Stone. In her mother's eyes, Cassandra has never been anything more than a disgrace, something that was not supposed to be.

For extra money Cass cares for an old woman called Yaza, who tells Cass thrilling tales of when she walked the earth as a fearless Hunter; a mythical warrior and mage clan. When she dies and leaves Cass her old 'Hunter's' bow, she also leaves her a quest that must be completed- at all costs.

Cass must embark on a dangerous and daring adventure to finish what the old woman couldn't. Along with a travelling pedlar boy and a girl who's used to getting what she wants, she will find adventure, loyalty, lies- and most importantly, herself.
