Emily Brown may not have the perfect life, but she feels she has a pretty darn good one. She has a roof over her head, a bed to sleep on, and food always on the table. She has a loving, solid family. Or does she?
When Emily discovers her parents are splitting up, she feels lost and confused. She doesn't know why, or when, this happened. She isolates herself from everyone: family, friends, acquaintances.
Then one day, while she's sitting on a swing in the middle of the night, she meets Michael Walker. And somehow, she doesn't feel so lost..
