Alex Richardson gained a reputation as being next year's valedictorian. Winnie Tracy was the school's popular athlete and quiet observer. Despite attending the same schools since second grade, Winnie and Alex never crossed paths worthy of a noticeable mention. Neither would be able to recall the other existing within the same small city before Junior year of high school where they shared the same schedule. Class-by-class they practically followed each other into the next period where they would spend yet another hour together.
