Welcome to Holmes Academy, the school for young detectives who wish to learn the art of detail and discrepancy. First founded by Dr. John Watson, students have been coming to learn everything there is to know about the detective work, from picking up clues to deadly weapons.

After her parents are killed in a plane crash, Angie Hilversum is adopted by her less then likeable aunt who happens to run Holmes Academy. Angie starts to attend classes with the rest of the student body, many of them picking on her for her odd ways, such as her being an avid collector of snow globes and wearing galoshes when it's not raining. Odd though Angie may seem, it becomes apparent that she is a natural at the detective work and when a boy is found dead in his dorm, summed up as a suicide, Angie is the first to say, this was no suicide, but murder at Holmes Academy.
