In the land of patriotism and academics, two religions prosper. Of Light and Darkness, Civilization and Wilderness, Aid and Death. Setia is a young woman, raised by Light church as a nun. Her parents were brutally murdered by people worshiping the Beast, the God of Darkness, according to the church. But without evidence or clear memories of the tragedy, she takes everything with a grain of salt. Each year, Setia visits her parent's graves and her childhood home. When she gets a letter of her being moved to another church, she decides to make her last visit to her parents special. Special by spending her savings on upgrading the graves, not meeting one of the Beast's worshipers.

All her life, Reya has been constantly reminded of how powerful a Witch she is, and how important the females of her mother's bloodline have always been in maintaining the balance in the magical continent of Alanus. And she doesn't remember a time when she ever wanted any of that. All Reya has ever wanted is to prove to her father that she can fight beside her twin brother and help protect their hometown, despite being "just a half-blood Witch." Her chance to prove herself as an able warrior comes when her town is suddenly attacked by the scavenging Savages of the Far North. But after a poorly thought out plan leaves Reya lost in the forests, she finds herself at the mercy of whatever gets to her first, be it wild animal or the fabled Savages. Her fate worsens, at least to her, when she meets an unlikely comrade; a black Wolf-shifter from a noble tribe who is determined to get on Reya's last nerve before the day breaks. She promises herself she will only accommodate him till the sun rises, and then she will forget the black haired boy who stayed with her through the night though he didn't have to. But of course... even that is going to be difficult for Reya to do.
