Annabeth can't help but remember and miss the times they spent together. Times she can't recreate or experience ever again. They need help. They might not be willing to admit it, but they couldn't win by themselves. It was just lucky, that the greatest and most mysterious light wizard of all time, called in an old favor and got their reinforcements. They want to help. They all miss him too, but they can't bear seeing their best friend slowly suffocate under her feelings. And of course, they could not stand letting a whole continent of wizards fall just because they were too selfish and still suffering from trauma of the war they had experienced. He can't help but feel suspicious. A bunch of teenagers, some older, some younger, was their saving grace. Yet as he gets closer to this unlikely group of their supposed "saviors" he starts discovering there is more behind the mask they hide under everyday. Much more than he could have imagined.

Power was shifting. Magic soared through the air. Anger turned into a storm. It was coming. When asked about their fourth year, a few decades later, Elizabeth described it as the year where she found out how great falling in love with the player felt. Victoria saw it as the year where she first realised how many different kinds of love there were. Harry's memory had turned it into a year of extreme jealousy and Hermione's into one of heartbreak. But when people would ask Aurora what it felt like to be fourteen, she said: "I was fourteen when my world was truly turned upside down. And only one person could put it right again. Unfortunately, that person wasn't me, because I had lost." ~~~ The competing championd is the fourth book in the Artemis Lupin series. I recommend you read the other three first. She was used to investigating mysteries on her own. People were untrustworthy. They lied. They tried to change the past. But the past couldn't be changed. Her own past was complicated. Especially because she wasn't the one hiding it, it was kept from her. For a good reason, they thought. The dream was her only lead. The only way to figure it all out. The dream was simply the end of a curse and the beginning of a nightmare. Because some secrets are better kept secret. The web of lies and deceit only got more complicated. Familymembers talked out of turn. The wise man was far too interested and the dark saw the truth in her eyes. Because her dream was simply the story. The story of betrayal, friendship but mostly death. But the thing that could ruin it all, was the very thing they couldn't change. It was the only truth in the past of lies. Her grey eyes and his black blood. ~Started 7 May 2018 - completed 17 July 2018~
