Annabeth can't help but remember and miss the times they spent together. Times she can't recreate or experience ever again.
They need help. They might not be willing to admit it, but they couldn't win by themselves. It was just lucky, that the greatest and most mysterious light wizard of all time, called in an old favor and got their reinforcements.
They want to help. They all miss him too, but they can't bear seeing their best friend slowly suffocate under her feelings. And of course, they could not stand letting a whole continent of wizards fall just because they were too selfish and still suffering from trauma of the war they had experienced.
He can't help but feel suspicious. A bunch of teenagers, some older, some younger, was their saving grace. Yet as he gets closer to this unlikely group of their supposed "saviors" he starts discovering there is more behind the mask they hide under everyday. Much more than he could have imagined.
