My tearful eyes slowly looked up to meet the familiar blue orbs of the man I was glad to call my love. Eyes where I thought would be filled with disgust and disappointment at my sudden revelation were instead reflecting the same love and pride I never thought I would receive from anyone.

Regina Jones is the most determined and independent person you could ever meet. She is never a patient lady and this meant there is only a certain amount of bullshit she can take from anyone. Unsocial and intimidating she seemed to everyone but under all that hard exterior was a kind, compassionate and lovable person that only a few people have the benefit of seeing.

Unfortunately, her intimidating aspect is what usually sent all the potential young men running for the hills, that is until she meets the handsome, funny and easy going Alessio Barbieri. He was the type of man admired by many, and his maturity, pleasant charm and caring attitude made him the lover most women would want to have but Regina seemed to be an exception.

And not because she wasn't attracted to him but because of something that kept holding her back. A secret she had long held within her that could possibly break the strong friendship and relationship she currently had with those around her.
