A girl by the age of 12 ran through the forest. The girl looked panicked and scared. 

'Why is she running? Who is she?' A person thought as she continued to look at the scene before her. As the outsider watched, she saw the child take a sharp turn heading towards a cave. 

'That's a scorpion cave!' Running after the girl, the outsider saw the girl run in the middle of the den. In one of the corners a scorpion lurked. The outsider tried to warn the child but it was too late. As the scorpion leaped towards the girl, things happened in slow motion. As the scorpion went in slow motion the child remained in the normal speed pace. Turning towards the outsider, the child looked at her with sadness in her eyes.

"Why did you forget me?" After the child said that time resumed it's normal speed. Before the scorpion touched the child everything went blank.

A gut-wrenching, animalistic scream erupted from the deepest fibers of her being as it ricocheted along the walls. It took her a moment to even register that the sound was coming from her. The tears drenched her face and she whipped around in a frenzy trying to establish where exactly she was and why her mind was a puddle of mush. Unable to remember anything of importance. Her screams continued and continued until her throat was sore from the endless beating it endured. Her dry coughs took over as she tried to catch a breath but her efforts were becoming futile. She hunched over, heaving and hyperventilating as her hands pressed into the gravel of the ground picking up small pieces to be embedded in her skin. A passing grade for two major subjects was hard enough... but with serial eyes watching closely in every turn and corners? It was never about school and graduation anymore. Mitch tossed her last smoke grenade, obscuring the figures in black's line of sight before dashing around a sharp corner in the rain-slicked alley. Echoes of hurried footsteps and shadows revealed an exhausted, frantic group of teens fleeing from the agile figures in crow masks. "I'm out of stuff!" Mitch yelled. "Targets locked on sight!" growled the alpha of the masked figures into a radio. "Initiate Bird Cage. Detain 18-1-22-5-14 at all costs!" crackled the reply, interrupted by static. While one figure lagged, two pairs scurried up the walls with a nightmarish grace. Four more, forming a diamond-like formation, flanked the alpha like a coordinated wolf pack. Mitch, startled by their precision, urged, "Use any disruptions you can!" The alpha raised a hand, signaling a devastating assault of flames, lightning, earth chunks, and plasma bolts. Luna and Remon split, using prismatic energy to glide along the walls, narrowly avoiding the onslaught. Remon faltered, nearly hit, but Rune quickly pulled her to safety. "We need to make it to Unilav Street for our checkpoint!" Mitch gasped, her breath shallow as they sprinted towards their elusive goal. Not until those non-adventurous days grew thorns. With an egotistical jerk and an awkward nerd for partners on an English project, who knew that those two would make the perfect pair. They certainly didn't anyway.

She....I....... I was running through the thick branches, pushing the leaves out of my way with all my might. I had to get away. The wet, brown, ground made it easier for me to slip and let her red, chilling hands slip around my innocent, scarred body, not knowing where she would take me next. I was almost out of breath, but I had to keep running if I wanted to make it out of this forest alive. My red dress was getting torn to shreds, and my hands and feet had mud all over them. My long, bushy brown hair was getting hooked on every possible branch, making me push my hair in the back of my dress, just like I used to when I was forced to cook everyday for my loathsome 'parents'. Returning back to the real world, I had to stop otherwise I would black out. I took a few seconds to catch my breath silently, and to look around to see if she was there behind me. I was looking up at the tall, old tree when I heard a twig snap behind me. Just like in the horror films. I turned and ran in the same direction, not daring to look back and see her wretched face fixed on my body. I sprinted and sprinted, but slowed down when I saw I was heading to nowhere but a ragged cliff. The unknown would me known if I continued to run and jump. I stopped two metres away from the cliff and looked down to see a valley so far down. If I jump..... I die. If I let her take me..... the unfair horribleness awaits me. I had no choice. I jumped.
