But Gotham did never worship those who attempted to break out of its system so Jay had to adapt to the formidable rules of the city for achieving his goals. Inevitably, everything became chaos when fate punished him for his stubbornness and his idealistic aspirations. All it took was one bad day. (Pre TDK)

Book 2. To be flooded by ordinariness and drown in the mediocrity of Gotham City has always been Saffron Corteccia's nightmare of a life since her childhood. When she finds herself writing articles about Gotham City Metro' s new seat foam plastic for the least sophisticated tabloid in the entire city, even though the town is brimming over with criminal affairs, she is even a bit thankful to be pulled out of her dreadful boredom by the ultimate criminal mastermind the Joker. And in the end madness is like gravity; all it takes is a little push. (TDK)

Wanting to be a superhero and becoming one, are two completely different things. But becoming the opposite? That's way easier. And sometimes it's not on purpose. Fate didn't want me to be a hero. I was a fairly normal girl, growing up in Central City. A city where superheroes and super villains didn't exist... until the particle accelerator exploded. Many people were turned into these metahumans, me being one of them. Likely one of the only changed nine year olds at the time. My parents were both scientists for Star Labs, being two of the many others that died in the blast. Needing to get away, I decided to move to Gotham. A good city to hide in. Maybe it wasn't the best city to move to, but, in the end, I'm glad I did. In the crazy town, I was adopted by the two craziest people there. The Deranged Duo, Harley Quinn and Joker. "Rescued by villains, who knew?" I say. "Villains rescue fellow villains," Joker says. "Sounds funny coming from you," I scoff. "Aww, is that the way you should treat your saviors?" Joker teases. "I could've taken them," I scoff. "Why did you save me?" "We watched you take out the last group of thugs," Harley says. This is my own personal version of how our lovable Dr. Harleen Quinzel fell in love with the psychopathic clown known as The Joker. This will be a dark story. I mean, it is about Joker and his story isn't a pretty one. There will be dark, mature themes in this book. It is not for the faint of heart. That being said, if you are not comfortable with this, then skip those parts. I will have them marked, and I will leave subtle hint, so you get the basic gist of what happened. I do not own any of these characters or the various original stories!! I just made my own remake of it. All rights go to the DC Universe and the creators of these awesome people. Thank you for trying out this story. I'm sorry if the parts that are from Joker's POV are terrible, but I tried to get as close to his twisted personality as possible. It isn't exactly easy to predict what the most unpredictable character ever made would say and do. I mostly went off of the movie scenes for his character. Please be nice to each other, and no rude comments. I may have a few spelling errors, so if you let me know, I will try to get to them. What if Joker had a daughter? One raised by Gotham... She was abandoned. She's angry. She want's revenge. She hates her father... But does this mean she works with the side of the Angels? Well, let's just say, there's a reason her name is Sanity. --Note-- This story is going to be re-written eventually, while this story will be up until the other version is finished (I won't be publishing it until then) this story will be deleted once that is done. There will be notice for that, so you know what is happening, but chances are you may need to re-read the book a second time following this. Especially, since I plan on actually having a sequel to this one complete eventually. --As a side note-- Only 5 characters are my own: Sanity, Ryu, Avalon, Jeremiah, Genevieve. In addition to this I have also used actual quotes from the Original Comics for the characters that have said them, as well as used some of the same origins/storylines to give the other characters (DC's) more of an identity e.g. 'Death in the Family' storyline// Where Joker kills Jason... Or 'A Killing Joke' storyline//Barbara getting put in a wheelchair and the Joker's Origin... Finally, the Joker's 'real' name//'Batman Mask of the Phantasm'. There are other parts as well but those are the main ones and a few of the examples. (I don't know if the 'Batman Mask of the Phantasm' is the actual title to the animated movie but it is close enough, I think.) Won 2nd place in the 2015 undiscovered contest.
