Ember moves with her Aunt to a small island off the coast of Ireland, to live with her Grandmother.
She thinks this will finally be her chance for the normal life she has always craved. A chance to make friends and settle into a place she can finally call home.
She soon realizes nothing in her life will ever be normal.
The small island is unlike any place she has ever known before.
Her Birthday celebration turns into the revelation of a huge secret that her family had kept from her.
Ember then tries to adjust to the legacy she was born into.
Not long after she stumbles onto more hidden truths that could have tragic consequences.
All because of a chance encounter with the one man she was never supposed to meet.
He awakens something in her.
Something that her family had desperately hoped would stay bound forever.
