Skylar Rickey's life is turned upside down when he learns that his mother, who has been in a coma for over four years, has finally awakened. But just as hope rekindles in his heart, his father stands in the way of his reunion, insisting it's not the right time. Frustrated and determined, Skylar embarks on a journey that takes him beyond the confines of his home, meeting a ragtag group of boys-each with their own troubled pasts-who help him navigate the complexities of family, friendship, and the desire for connection. As he confronts the realities of his mother's condition and the walls built around him, Skylar must decide how far he's willing to go to reclaim the love he's been missing and what it truly means to come home. - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - "Why can't you just let me see her?" Skylar shouted, his voice echoing in the stillness of the darkened house. His father's eyes flickered with uncertainty, but Skylar didn't care. All he could think about was the fleeting hope of reuniting with his mother, the only person who had ever understood him. "You're not protecting me; you're keeping me away from the one person who matters most." The silence that followed felt heavier than a thousand unspoken words. - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - UPDATES EVERY WEEKEND CREDITS [this story could not be made possible without the following!] @LincolnMushroom (editor) @ABitOfAProblem (also editor) @Gipsyyyy73663 (plot :D) @Astrosz (also plot :/) @RXTER- (writer!)

Middle School Miniature

27 parts Ongoing

I stand up slowly and look up into the huge, sad, green eyes of my friend. I still remember my life when it was normal, average, plain. Nothing of any importance ever happened. "Don't go!" he pleads softly. I look down as my heart squeezes. "I have to," I say, "I can't let anyone else get hurt." Silently, I sob. "I'm sorry." I say and slowly turn to jump off the edge into a dark oblivion. ◆◆◆ Middle School Miniature brings to you the life of a confused 13 year old girl in middle school who finds herself on the small side of the coin as she and an acquaintance flee from those who would capture her. I like to try and focus on the descriptions to bring you, the reader, into the tiny shoes of Amelia as much as I can. I have always found these stories to twist my insides and really have me wishing to see that perspective for real. If you enjoy this kind of story, please consider reading. Copyright is mine.
