Hinata never had any female role model or companionship growing up, she's actually never even made her first friend yet, she never understood girly things or why the females cling to Sasuke.

Ino was a sheltered child, her parents loved and spoiled her, and she was the third ranked girl in the class. She wanted to be on a team with Sasuke to get some alone time with him, but we don't always get what we want.

Sakura had a rough childhood, of course her parents were always cheering her on and giving her their full support, but after deciding Ino was her rival, she didn't really have any friends. If she were completely honest, she really just wanted to have friends on her team.
