This is a story that takes place within Marvel's shared universe connecting the Avengers films. The storyline may diverge from the canon on occasion, so please bear with me.

CRYPTID | james b. barnes
cryptid /cryp·tid/ noun an animal that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist ----------- The investigation of cryptid creatures from the general public sparked interest within SHIELD's Enhanced Division and, subsequently, HYDRA's Weapons Division. A race to find the creatures of cryptids commenced as myth merged with reality. Thus began decades of an underwhelming chase that proved nearly pointless. Nearly. PROJECT: CRYPTID emerges, and three year old 017 finds herself introduced to a tall, towering and scary looking weapon, the Winter Soldier. Quiet and recluse, Solveig doesn't mind being called 017. She doesn't remember her home or her family, but she does know the only family she has now- HYDRA. She knows nobody else has the glassy wings on her back, and she knows she's all sorts of wrong. The agents say so. But, maybe, just maybe, the man- Bucky- would think of her different, and maybe, the Winter Soldier would too. ----------- "Only the best dads let their children fly. Only the most loved children will soar." ----------- in which the Winter Soldier adopts an Asgardian child. ----------- CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (minimally/references) BLACK WIDOW PRE-AVENGERS: ASSEMBLE AVENGERS: ASSEMBLE POST-AVENGERS: ASSEMBLE WARNINGS: child abuse, non-consensual body modification, torture, etc (the usual HYDRA violence)Complete
Project Hellhound
Hydra's secret wasn't a weapon. It was her. Codenamed Hellhound, she was the final survivor of Project Wolves-Hydra's most classified experiment. Designed to be the perfect obedient soldier, she was more than they realized: a wolf-shifter with a mind of her own, forced to hide her humanity beneath fur and fangs. When the Avengers raid a Hydra base, they expect to destroy another enemy asset. Instead, they find a creature who shouldn't exist-one that the Winter Soldier once trained, and one that remembers him far more than he remembers her. But Hellhound has secrets even Hydra never uncovered. She's not just an experiment. She's not just a wolf. And as the Avengers debate whether to trust her, she walks a razor's edge-between proving she's not a threat and revealing just how dangerous she truly is.
Crave
The Asset. Makes it sound like there was only one, doesn't it? One assassin, one soldier, one life stolen and taken over to be used as a tool for evil minds. There was never only one. Hydra's bloodstained hands, people called them. And once one's hands have been bathed in blood so many times, it's near impossible to look at the skin and not see red. Yet, when Hydra has been pushed out into the open by the Avengers there's the slightest flicker of hope for the asset left behind. You see, I never had a Steve Rogers. No one is looking for me. The only person I've ever had is the one I was trapped with, the one that's now free. The one who, if he finds me, I will surely destroy. I DON'T OWN THE AVENGERS OR MARVEL, ONLY THE CHARACTERS AND SITUATIONS I CREATE.Complete
Trauma
Bucky is determined to get himself a dog. And his boyfriend Steve agrees that a dog would really help his friend to overcome his anxiety attacks and his PTSD (not that Bucky would ever admit suffering from any mental disease). But the dog Bucky chooses to take in may not be suitable for him. They say that two damaged souls may heal each other but sometimes you need more than just a good friend to heal. Sometime friendship isn't enough after all. Sometimes you need a professional to help you. This story does contain some things that may trigger people. Am not gonna lie it is pretty sad and maybe disturbing. Animals die in this book. Don't ever get a traumatised dog if you are not experienced at all! It will neither make you, nor the dog happy. Rescuing dogs is definitely something that should be supported but not everyone is up for the challenge. None of these characters belong to me (well, yes, the dog does). They are all from the MARVEL universe.Complete
