"have you ever been so tired, so weak that you can't even cry anymore, you just sit there and wonder why your life sucks so bad, why everyone and everything is against you, why you can't ever get your shit together, why your life is so sad, why nothing good happens in your life...why " I linger looking down at my blurry boots as a single tear drops "why you are so broken?"

"who broke you, Sapphire? " he asks in a low tone.

I raise my head slowly to look at him, thinking for a minute, knowing that I have been asked that very question numerous times in the past six years.
So I answered with three words I have heard myself say more than a thousand times already..
"I don't know".
