TALATU

A short story set in a village in Northern Nigeria, Talatu tells the painful story of a young child separated from his mother and sent to the city to study under the Almajiri system of education. It also tells of the stigma endured by the mother because she is mute and how she shoulders the responsibility of her family despite her situation.
