Now that Shadow, the evil lion who killed Rani's parents is gone, there's been lots of offspring and some royal gossip due to the three new royal cubs that arrived at the Tree of Life. Not to mention there's lots of stuff going on at the Tree of Life. Kion and Rani are having problems, new enemies have arrived at the Tree of Life, Beshte's deciding whether to leave the Night Pride or not, new lions have arrived at the Tree, Surak is unsure how to deal with his feelings for Nirmala, the king and queen of the Pridelands are sick, and much more. All of this hate and agony lead to a fierce punishment that will change some of the animals forever and teach them a valuable lesson. Will Rani and Kion work out?
