When the Apocalypse was approaching, the government had designed a way for humanity to survive it. That is, the more wealthy percentage of humanity. If you could afford to pay the the jaw dropping price your survival cost, you'd be given the luxurious underground bunker that would allow you to wait out what happened above ground. 

Those that had no choice but to stay in the Above, we left to fend for themselves as sickness, anarchy, and paranormal-like chaos took place. Not everyone survived, but those that did weren't left the same as before it started. Mutated genetic makeup from chemical bombs and disease outbreaks has left the people of Old Earth stronger, smarter, and powerful. 

When the Apocalypse ended, and the people of the Bunkers returned to the Above, they didn't expect to find their former home in the condition before them, nor the neighbors looking they way they do now. Eric lived in a Bunker for three years, Aspen was the only one in her family to survive the Apocalypse, and now her eyes glow bright blue and her strength is incredible. Two young adults will be the first to find love after the Apocalypse, and they might be the key in helping restore peace in humanity once and for all.All Rights Reserved

They don't have emotions, only hunger and let me tell you, they will go out of their way to eat you, they will speak but it will sound different... Deformed almost. The eyes are usually the first to become infected, they become slightly red at first, as time progresses so does the intensity of the color red in the eye. The color in their eyes they once possessed, will seem dull, it will seem as if they are unfocused or unfamiliar with their surroundings. That is all I can tell you for the moment Lexi, but know their are people waiting for your arrival, and we are waiting for you to end this suffering race." Today marks 15 years since the U.S. Government issued a nationwide evacuation, but the only safe place was underground. They claimed scientists had measured an immense amount of pressure on the sun's surface that posed a serious threat to Earth. The media exploded with different ideas, breaking down what vague warning was given to the public. Some ignored these warnings as others prepared and went underground, such as my mother and I did. We were two of the 33 that were lucky enough to be taken in by the Vinyard's in their bunker they built, however not all were fortunate enough to make it through the 15 long years. We all had a name for the phenomenon that sent us under - The Burial. The surface rattled with mysterious noises over the next 5 years. As soon everyone got used to the noise, it all grew silent. Since all communications were cut off from the surface, we were all lost in the dark as to what really happened to our home, but no one dared to suggest leaving. However, the Vinyard's had a set of rules for their bunker: Ensure you are doing your part to keep the bunker running. Never take more than you need. No procreation. However, the last, but most important rule; Never go near the bunker door - ever. The year is 2071 and now there are only 40 of us left out of the 100 that began this underground journey. What we once considered an unlimited amount of food is starting to thin and run low. Keeping morale high is also becoming a strenuous task. Many don't believe there's life outside the bunker doors and many are too scared to think about it, but undiscovered secrets within the Vinyard's bunker may lead to a new, and literal, unearthing of information.
