Having completed his sentence in Hell, the Archangel Gabriel is dropped back into his usual post just in time for Christmas and three different world-takeover plots--and those are just the problems threatening Earth. But Gabriel is not the same person he was before the Hellhole, and he doesn't know how to explain to his angelic family that he needs time to recover from the traumatic experience.

Meanwhile, the mortal world is in turmoil. Nonhumans and superhumans toe the line so as not to upset the non-powered majority, and a shadowy human organization called HRL is pulling strings to make sure the status quo remains in place. This is not going by the show so the big happenings are way out of order meaning the apocalypse will happen after they get the bunker, the angels falling will be before the apocalypse or stuff like that.
