Sherman Sympton has been experiencing strange hallucinations since a young age called PCEs, otherwise known as Perceptual Contact Epilepsies. These mysterious hallucinations come in forms of hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, or feeling, and sometimes many at the same time. But they all only occur when contact with an-other living thing is present. 
When Sherman’s parents die in a car accident he is sent to live with his Aunt Henley and the particular sound droning from her isn’t the most pleasant. In the new town of Sauline, Sherman is forced to start a new life. New friends, new family, new noises and a new girl.
A girl that has absolutely no sound. A silent girl full of mystery and wonder. But what could be causing her to be absent to Sherman’s ears? What is so wonder filling about her? Is she simply immune to his invasive touch? Maybe his hormone thrashed body is just blocking the chorus from her. Or maybe there is something utterly wrong with this wonder doll…
