In a not so distant future, science, technology and psychology coalesce in a law enforcement system that has all but eradicated most major crime in the New North America. Made up of what was formerly Canada and the United States, the New North America is a powerhouse and has gone about taming it's neighbors, the new state eager to spread it's crime-killing philosophy and tactics to the rest of the world.
     

     Fresh out of her placement exam and with the mental capacity for the job, Edith Bowman is a new enforcement officer (enforcer for short) at the heart of her unit's operations.  Everything is moving normally, it's tough, but her training is well worth it. 


    Until, on one assignment, she finds something strange...
