In a world where the dead live, Eli is alone.

He finds that it's easier to survive that way, with a crossbow as his only companion and no one to look after but himself. Unfortunately, while looting for food in a market's backroom, he comes across a girl who is more like a child than a survivalist. When the dead start to pour in and a choice must be made, Eli finds that he cannot leave her.
