Stan hangs out with Kenny most of the time while Kyle somehow joins Craig's group by becoming friends with Tweek. Cartman is one of the "popular" kids. Because of a fiasco between Kyle and Craig, Kyle is the talk of the school leaving Stan to wonder what happened to his SBF.
