Battling With Angels

There's an old mentality that the strong prey on the weak.

The weak, in her natural habitat with sarcasm her only defense, she is a natural at hiding. And her name is Nadene.

She is quiet, introverted, and she floats through school doing enough to get by. At home, she is prey to a disconnected brother and an abusive father.

Online, however, she publishes poems and short stories. Under a username, she can express her thoughts without the fear of judgment. It's the only place she feels safe.

When one of her recent commenters discovers her real identity, and ultimately her life at home, she immediately feels threatened. It is her goal to keep everyone from knowing about her. From figuring out how much of a freak she is.

But it may be that a stranger can know you better than anyone, and that the strong, for once, can help the weak.
