Kotoko Kyōmigāru is an 18 year old boy who has an infatuation with girls clothes and lives an odd, but normal, life. Except for one thing. He coughs up flowers. Hanahaki Disease is where a person, who experiences one sided love, begins to throw up and Cough flowers. It was just a silly myth when he first heard about it. But he is experiencing it, firsthand now. His parents have taken him to every medical office in Japan, but nothing. It is very deadly, and the doctors said that he probably wouldn't live past 20 years old. That is, until he met Reiketsu "Rei" Kira.
Reiketsu is a normal girl, for the most part. Her family is normal, she has perfect grades, and she is the most popular girl in school. Except for the fact that she was trained, brutally, to fight others. She is an expert at all things combat. And she has taken a very strong liking towards Kotoko.
When Rei finds out that Kotoko has Hanahaki, she swears on her life that she will help him find a cure, and she knows where to get it.

Hanahaki is a disease where the affected coughs up the favorite flowers of the one they love, left untreated it can kill in a matter of weeks, you can get a surgery to remove the root, however you will forget everything about your loved one, or never feel love again. More commonly people let it kill them, but this can be avoided by confessing, however if you get rejected, the condition will progress faster and surgery will no longer be an option. The cough will start with a few petals, then progress to the entire flower head, after that a bit of blood, and finally, the entire flower with the stem and blood. If it gets to that point, you likely have days to live. The condition progresses faster or slower depending on how long the love has existed and how strong it is. Some of the warning signs for the disease are high unexplainable fevers along with harsh coughing fits and trouble breathing, these symptoms only occur for the worst cases however, so not everyone will have warning signs. "Great" Asahi sighed with his head in his hands. "Just what I needed." When Asahi gets sick and doesn't recover it's up to him and a few others to figure out what to do before it's too late, only, he has a secret he doesn't want them to know. Some say secrets can kill, but this time it's far too real. (Disclaimer!!! Idk if this will end up being finished but i have the plot mapped out, so if it does get abandoned, i can tell you about the ending if you want.)
