Salem's life isn't one full of particular excitement or adventure. He can't say he's been fine with that. He wants to do something meaningful with his life. That didn't particularly include anything so crazy as getting involved with magic, murderers, and world ending things. And yet if everyone thought 'someone else will deal with it' and nothing would get done- So he has to do something, but its not like he equipped to handle this no matter what people say about him!

The Ceremony consists solely of the King passing on judgment to each of these children. What that means, Salem couldn't be sure, but he looked forward to this day, for as long as he could remember. That is until it was his turn. As he steps before the King, he soon comes to realize how wrong he thought before.

Being Head Witch of an entire city is less leader-ing than the job title would have one think; it's more a fine blend of disciplinary work, keeping the entire 'magic thing' under wraps, vetting new witches and directing them to the guidance they need, and keeping track of magic layering tomes. And goddamn it all, her partner just managed to disappear at the wrong time; right after finding and apprehending a particularly violent newfound witch flexing his newfound magic, and right before it was time to take care of the tome that caused it all. (Features mild-to-severe swearing, some mild descriptions of mostly magical violence, graphic descriptions of black magic in the most literal sense, five cats, a naughty dog, witches with stupidly specific magics, a bookmobile, at least two established romantic relationships, at least two non-binary characters, and a literal punchy witch.)Complete
