Nick Apperman, "Pretty boy," does what's expected of him. He's a straight-A student, and Eastwood High School's track star. Struggling with depression, he puts up a front to maintain his image. One Friday night, a small get-together takes an unexpected turn. Too many drinks and a couple of bad decisions later, Nick's perfect life gets messy. He's torn between his best friend Mason, and his childhood friend Grace. Nick has two choices: to be himself or maintain this facade. Grace or Mason, who will it be?

"The sensation of his skin against mine felt so intimate, so real. It felt right. I didn't know if things would change between us. Only then did it become clear, that I hoped things could changed. He was the first light of spring after a long winter" (Chapter 5: First Light).

[BXB / unedited ] Saying that Max Oran is a disaster would be an understatement: he got himself kicked out of school, his dad has sent him to live with his emotionally distant mother and his friends don't want anything to do with him. When Max starts at his new school, he meets Cole Benson and his turbulent but loyal friends. As Max develops new bonds and begins to fall for Cole, he realizes that, despite everything, he might have stumbled into something beautiful. Eager to embrace the second chance that life has given him, Max begins counseling and, with the help of Cole and his newfound friends, tries to move forward. However, he quickly realizes that there are more bumps ahead than he was prepared for and is forced to decide if he's going to push past his problems or let his mistakes hold him back forever.
