A/N: i try to make good, can not promise anything ;P

Only the strong and smart survive. The trials are about to begin.

Jess has been preparing for this her whole life. But, in the trials you never know what you will face. With her birthday in less than a week, Jess is scared out of her mind. Soon, she will be taken away from her family. Every 16 year old gets taken away, not many come back. After she is taken, she will be put in a maze with a series of obstacles. Once you reach the center, you are safe. The trials were made to make society better, they said. To improve our intelligence and strength, lies. It was population control, and only the best survived. Most die though. Jess has to discover who she is in the trials, is she strong or weak? Will Jess make it out, or will the trials consume her, just like it has to countless others?

100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. With Iron Guard, the resistance outside the walls, hunting the Purebloods too, will the trial save human race before it's too late? #3 in #dystopianfuture (27.06.2020)
Remember for the Both of Us [COMPLETED] by loveviolagirl

Remember for the Both of Us--a Maze Runner / Newt fanfiction If you're reading this, you know the story of the Maze Trials. Or really, what WICKED fed you. It's all propaganda. Well, most of it. My name... well, you can call me Hope, and I'm here to tell you the real story of Group A. The thing is, WICKED's whole plan relied on Thomas to have the ingenuity to figure his way out. What if he didn't? What if he didn't have that fateful encounter with Minho and the Grievers at the edge of the Cliff? WICKED's plan failed. Utterly. What were they supposed to do? Well, they had backup options, yes, but at the last moment they second-guessed them all. They came down to me. The very last of their last fail-safes. It was too risky to send in someone else who would forget, they said. So they put me in their Box, told me to do this and that, to guide them to a solution. I am Subject C1. The Catalyst. Or the Actress. Whatever you prefer. I'd rather you call me that than Hope. They sent me in to save Group A. But WICKED's fatal flaw is that they always assume that their human "subjects" will do exactly what they want. There was no way I was going to do what they told me to do, not if I could avoid it. Why would I? This is the organization that stole everything from me. My life, my home, my family-- The closest thing I had to a friend. So it was asking a lot to send me into their precious Maze Trials. Especially because they had promised before never to do so. WICKED's done a lot of awful things. But the cruelest thing they did? It was to let me remember. || *Disclaimer: I own none of the settings / characters except for Hope* WARNING: HAS NOT BEEN EDITED! READ AT OWN RISK! (I'll do heavy, heavy editing after it's done, I promise ^_^) I hope you enjoy it!

*Completed* We are only a number... How would you feel if when you were born, your whole life was set in front of you? If how you were treated was all dependent on where in the year you were born? Well, welcome to Karyln, formerly known as the United States before World War three and four. In Karyln, parents try to plan pregnancies to end right around the first of the year because when you're born decides how the rest of your life will be. The first boy and girl born gets the number one, they are projected to receive the best life possible. The next boy and girl get the number two, and I think it's pretty easy to guess how the rest goes. The only thing standing between the elite society and their perfect lives, is The Trial. Every year, on the first of June, everybody who has or is having their eighteenth birthday joins. It's a race to the finish line in teams of four and you could either become a higher or lower number depending on when you reach the end. This was created in hope to give those with lower numbers a chance to climb up the ranks. The Trial then developed into more. Pairs of boys and girls with numbers one through thirty live, while the others with numbers of thirty-one and beyond are purged to maintain population control. Oh how our country loves to dig bigger holes for itself. My name is Adaline Grace, and I'm number twenty-two. ~~~~~~~~~~ Awards: 1st Place in The Creative Awards (Third Edition) 1st Place in The Astrologist Awards 2020 2nd Place in The Unknown Writers Awards
