After his parent's death, twelve-year-old Raleigh Ridley was taken in by a woman. She gave him a home and despite taking the role of a parent, she remained reserved and often seemed as if she was studying him instead of watching him. After two years of living in the apartment alone with the strange woman, an incident next door takes place and Raleigh was removed from her care and moved into the care of a man she trusts.

Years later, Raliegh was still living with this man and throughout those years he has learned that he was living a secret. The people he has been living with since his parent's death worked with the previously secret organization, S.H.I.E.L.D., and the only reason he was under their watch was because of the powers he inhabited.
