Set in the near post-apocalyptic future, Earth is being threatened with poverty and famine. Society is now fractured in two; the Elites have since moved to a distant space habitat whereas the poor live on Earth, now called the Core. Caught up in the misery is a young girl struggling at the edge of starvation, left with no relatives and no memories of her childhood.
One day, she encounters the head of the FDA. He takes her to a facility runned by the Fortum Scientific Project, a safe haven for orphans living in the Core protecting from the harsh conditions and providing them with food, clothes and health-care.
Will this be her one-way ticket to a new life, one that will lead her to self-discovery and to a person she will hold dear, or will this drag her down into the obscure sides of humanity? Only time will tell.
