Chris Ange was from the Bronx. Hey, it might have been a rough life, but she had her track team, her mom, and Luke -- the homeless kid who had pretty much adopted her. All that changed with the bang of a gun and whirling blue-and-red lights. Now she finds herself in a small town with an uncle she'd never heard of from her dad's side and his creepy care-giver.
That's not all -- something sinister has taken up residence in Clark. The authorities call it the Shredder, a serial killer of some sort. But that doesn't seem to quite fit. The whole mess has something to do with Tanner Rachat and the Ryder siblings, and her uncle's sinister nurse.
Can Chris get to the bottom the mystery surrounding Clark's murders with her new friends before it's too late? Or will she fall prey as so many have before her?
