"A pen pal assignment!? Are you kidding me!?" Martha screamed.
"Martha, relax. It's only for the summer," her best friend Kim said rolling her eyes.
The thing about having a pen pal is you have to socialize. I, Martha, do not socialize. Not since Jake.. ughhh! Why can't the school do something normal like having to help at an old folks home. I like old people! Old people like me!! *sigh* Might as well get this stupid thing over with..
*logs onto pen pal account*
"Hi I'm Martha.."
"I'm Emmett.."
And that's how it all began... okay, maybe not exactly like that but read the story to find out the exact beginning.. #duh. The basics? Martha and Emmett are pen pals who have acquired some feelings for each other over the course of their required interactions. Emmett is in love and isn't afraid to admit it but Martha's past is haunting her brain and clouding her feelings. Could she be ruining something great or saving herself from another painful heartache? Well of course I know the answer to that, but if you wanna find out, you're going to have to start with chapter one.
