As a Brooklyn Native, from a young age, Jayla could remember people laughing at her skin color. Her father always told her that she was beautiful, but that was before he died. This made Jayla insecure, as no one else was there to remind her that, even her mom who was always working. Jayla always knew that colorism existed, but didn't know how to combat it. One day when Jayla's mother meets and marries a man, Jayla is forced to move. Happy for a fresh start, Jayla doesn't think too much of the move, little does she know that she's in for a ride Close To Me ©2019 All copyrights reservedAll Rights Reserved
