A stroll through a magical forest isn't really so fun when there are faeries plucking and grabbing clumps of your hair, elves attempting to set your clothes on fire, and trolls poking your vulnerable skin with their needle-like fingers. 

  Unfortunately, Vorare has been like this for as long as anyone could remember - with creatures more of a nuisance than that of a threat. Darkness looms in every corner, and only those cunning and manipulative enough shall make it to the top. 


  Strange tales waft around their world, and Asagai, a young thief of fourteen summers, struggles to save his old hag by venturing into the unknown in order to find some fae and garner their spittle rumoured to heal diseases. But it seems like fate has found a way to give him a detour as he travels with the slightly uncommunicative Emberchase, the weaver of flames.

  An organization of killers chase after their heels, a prince wants to use him for war, and the thief will soon come to realize that the man whom he pledged loyalty to isn't as what the stories had told him to be. 


  In a place where fire is neither deaf nor mute, foxes and bears are considered magical, and princesses have a knack for hanging people, will Asagai still be able to return home?
