Despite possibly being the only person ever invited to attend on full scholarship, Sebastian Garvey does not belong at Arcadia Academy. The elite boarding school is meant for the children of the mega-wealthy, not some poor kid with a dead dad and enough problems already. Not that it's that bad; but it takes some getting used to - the wealth, the parties, the being in the middle of nowhere - and the freedom that comes with it all.

The real problem is that he'd never even heard of the school before he received the admission letter. He certainly hadn't applied to it. Which then begs the question: who wants him here? And why? It's his last year of high school, and as people here keep reminding him, it's rare for students to transfer into Arcadia, especially as seniors.

So, why is he not the only one? Toph Leas is in his history class and, as Sebastian finds out, is also attending by invitation. Could they have been invited by the same person, for the same reason? Or is something even stranger going on?

For a school, Arcadia raises questions more than it provides answers, and the mystery goes deeper than Sebastian could ever imagine. There are things about himself and his family that he doesn't know, and a history to the school that is resurfacing in the worst way. Wolves are gathering in the woods outside as a threat grows stronger from within.

The world as Sebastian knows it is changing, shifting into something else entirely. That much he was expecting. It's the people who can shift into something else that he's starting to worry about.
