Shane and Ryan investigate some of the most haunted locations in Australia, starting with the Monte Cristo Homestead for the newest episode of Unsolved: Supernatural.

Ryan believes the locations they visit are filled with the supernatural and Shane knows this but would never admit it to his friend if his (unholy) life depended on it. Now comes the issue of protecting his companion from becoming entangled with the spiritual plane that he can't even begin to comprehend.

//////

"don't mind my companion here... he's not a fan of demons" for a moment as Shane swept his flashlight upwards the light reflected on their night-vision camera and lit his eyes up in an eerie glow which remained long after the beam left his face shrouded in darkness.

[ORIGINALLY POSTED ON AO3]

A/N: this work uses real locations and deals with the 'real' hauntings of these locations. i do not own these locations or stories

This is a Shane/Ryan work (Shane x Ryan), meaning this is a shipping fanfiction... as well as this i will be exploring some Demon Shane elements so if either of things arent your thing then this fanfiction is not for you.

The Buzzfeed Unsolved boys have done their fair share of investigations over the years, both from behind their desk and out and about on location. This time, however, was different. Something was off, and Ryan had a feeling it wasn't just his fear of the paranormal getting to him. This investigation / camping trip made him feel incredibly uneasy and that sensation only increased when he woke up in the middle of the night only to find Shane wasn't there anymore. ~~~~~ [Note: This is MY version of Demon!Shane which explains the how and why of him being intertwined with an evil being.] {Bold letters are used for emphasis, underlined text is used for letters, scripts or texts, italics are dialogue going on in the head of the person's whose POV the chapter is in. /Both italics & bold used as complete sentences are for a character that comes in after the first chapter...\ In the case of some dialogue interrupting a script, much like in their videos when there's nothing pointing to who said the line, the text aligned to the left is Shane speaking and text aligned to the right is Ryan speaking.} (Got the idea for this AU when I was looking through many pieces of fan art of Ryan and Shane. Since I didn't find a fic like this to enjoy, mainly because they are mostly centered around the Shyan ship, I decided to listen to my best friend's advice and make it myself. Cover is fan art done by taterdraws on tumblr.) Word Count: 12,300

'So....' Shane thinks to himself, 'is there something one could want so badly they would be willing to give up everything for it?' The answer is simple: Yes. You could say that he was only a few deja-vu's from reliving his whole life over again. Living between moments; Watching... Waiting... Wishing. But that was the kicker in all of this. Shane knew that if he had to relive the same six months over and over, he would do it all again without a second thought if it meant he got to see Ryan smile once more. Seriously though, why did demon hunting have to be this complicated? Fuck you bunny cat. Fuck you. ---- or, Shane and Ryan both believe in ghosts and demons. Due to their job description, it was only a matter of time before they actually stumbled across one. When Ryan ends up giving his life for his friend, it's up to Shane to try and fix things. Except, it turns out things aren't that simple to fix.
