Flares in the Dark

When the bully becomes the victim and the saviour becomes the tormentor, there'll be hell to pay for the mistakes of the past.

Angry at himself and afraid of the world, when he bullied her she pulled him out of the trench he had dug for himself. Later when the roles had reversed and she became the tormentor and he the victim, he planned to return the favour.

Like annihilated hope reignited.
Like a raft in a whirlpool of sorrow.
Like a flare in the dark.

He was determined to save her. And he would.
Hopefully before she was too far gone to be saved.
