Prince Evan Hansen has not had the fantastic life expected for royalty. His father, the king left for another woman in another country, leaving Evan and his mom, the queen, to rule the kingdom of Arbor. While Arbor may not be the richest kingdom around, over the past few years of Queen Heidi's rule it's flourished into a beautiful and strong region, doing particularly well in the lumber industry. But Heidi can't rule forever, and Evan, being the only son, is the heir to the throne. Which means it's time for him to get married. Now, Evan hasn't been seen much in public life due to his severe anxiety, but arrangements have been made for him to marry Princess Zoe Murphy from the neighboring kingdom of Lac. Lac is a VERY rich country, so a marriage alliance is important to the Arbor's economy. Zoe and her older brother, Prince Connor, will be coming over for a month before the wedding. But there's one problem. Evan sees the Murphy siblings arrive and falls in love at first sight.
