~ AJ Amber, Claire Rivers, Estelle Heath and Alexandrea Midnight's lives were typical of normal teenage girls; annoying younger siblings, hanging out in their small group of friends and all the other mundane aspects of life. Sure, there were times where Andrea felt like MAYBE things weren't what they seemed, but that's normal too.... right? ~ And then... well, things weren't normal. ~ Suddenly they are test subjects, 'Oddities', with the ability to do things they shouldn't be able to do, as can and the other 'subjects' in the 'experiment'. Things are confusing, stressful and downright strange. ~ How will Andrea, AJ, Claire and Ester cope? Can Andrea manage their 'gang' through the new battlezone of the 'AUS Zone'? Will their friendship survive? Will THEY survive? ~ Andrea tells all, with some assistance from the other three, to C.O.R.E... ~

Alyssa has forgotten her brush with Death, but David's words have stayed with her: prepare. For what? She doesn't know. For a year, she's trained and become an almost undefeated boxer, putting all of her grief for the boy she loved and lost into being the best fighter. She's fast, strong, fearless. Now strange things have started happening, and she thinks she's losing her mind. How is she supposed to fight against what she can't see? Her mother's mind is clouded with a darkness no medicine can fix, and an ancient shadow circles the town, and Alyssa knows it's somehow related to her. Gifted in ways she doesn't understand, she's thrust into a triangle of devotion and danger-an angelic protector who refuses to leave her alone, a boy whose hands have held hers through the nights, and a darkness that wants only to make her surrender. In a race that runs as fast as her fists, Alyssa must choose who to trust and how much of herself to give-because the only way to stop a thing that feeds on light may be to become what it fears most. Will she save her mother and keep her humanity, or the secrets hasn't discovered cost her everything?
