Avalon Matthews life is anything but perfect. She gets bullied and her parents hate her, what could be worse than that?  Danny Brockman is the school's quarter back. Everybody loves him, he basically rules the school. Nobody stands up for Avalon, nobody knows what goes on in her life, that's because nobody cares, but he does. Danny hates seeing Avalon in this state, he hates it so much, but he doesn't stand up for her, because he cares about his reputation. But one Monday he's had enough. That Monday he turned into her soldier.
