Zoraya's Struggle

This is my first try at writing anything. I'm sure there will be mistakes. I'm open to any and all advice to improve. Please be kind, I'm new to this writing thing. I also do not have rights to the music. I just added it because I felt like it set the mood for the chapter.

Zoraya has a lot going on at home that she feels she has to hide from everyone. To her it's embarrassing and she feels like it keeps her from being able to trust any or all types of relationships. To say she has trust issues is putting it lightly. She does everything she can to stay off peoples radar regardless of who they are. It could be her parents, teachers, principals, and sometimes even people she could consider friends. She's shy around new people and has always kept people at arms length for fear of being hurt in any way.

On her first day of her sophomore year of high school she meets Kason. One of the hottest guys at her school. He's wanted to know her since he's first laid eyes on her. There was always something about her that called to him. He wasn't sure what it was but he wanted to find out. He's even more intrigued by her because she has no clue about his popularity and seems to not even care about it either. It's like breathing fresh air around her and he feels like he can really be himself around her without being judged. He can sense she holds back a lot and he wants to break down the walls she has built. But will she let him get close enough to do it? Will she even give him the time of day? What happened to her that keeps her so closed off to everyone?
