Marina Raeburn has always been interested in Battle Royale-style fiction, longing to someday be able to take part in that sort of fight herself. But Marina is a logical girl and knows that the chances are low that her dream will ever come true, especially since there is no government program to send kids to a situation like that in real life. Besides, she realizes that she would probably die immediately. But when Marina is accepted into Chestrelle Academy, a high-tech school that teaches students to survive drastic situations by placing them in virtual-reality arenas, she may finally have a chance to test her ability in a fight to the death.
