Kingston Private School is a school not just full of wealthy kids, but filled with hideous secrets. But The Dean is afraid that all these secrets might get out into the public that his school will be shut down. After planning something that could keep anyone from finding out about the dark side of Kingston, he is murdered the next day. Coincidently, a new kid tumbles into town that same morning everyone has heard of the devastating news. Becca, Ilene, Taylor, Colleen and Harley decide to take charge and search for the murderer of The Dean. But what they didn't know was that they were putting their lives in danger and others too. " I'm sick of you putting your hands on me Johnny!" A loud gunshot went off, echoing around the house, and for the first time, it was quiet. No more door slamming, no more cleaning up my mother's blood off the walls, and no more fighting. I remember asking my mother "Are we free?" I swear it felt like Christmas or New Year's. All I can hear is cheering in my head or maybe ringing. For the first time in 12 years Mother and I were able to sleep that hot summer night in bed together. April's life changed once she saw her dad Johnny get murdered right in front of her, by her mother June. A self-defense case quickly turned to manslaughter and the law turned against June at the drop of a hat. June was sentenced to 25 to life, a then 14-year-old April was left alone. Her dad said didn't want anything to do with her as she was defending her mother and June never knew her parents as she grew up in group homes. April is now a 25-year-old private eye and teaches self-defence classes in honour of her mother. On her off days, she works at a gentleman's club called "The Claw" where she meets Derek Hill and their life is forever changed.
