Aimee Woodley just wants a break from everything. She's tired of being tired and just wants the world to work for her, just this once. With her mother dead, and her father not caring, she only has friends to rely on. Oh,wait! She doesn't have those either- well, except Simon, who seems to be keeping a suspicious secret of his own.
Thoroughly depressed and worn out, sixteen year old Aimee is more than willing to go to the scholarship program being held in Hong Kong (which she doesn't know how she got into), and leaving New Jersey behind her.
