He wanted to wash away the sins that he has caused for her and her family who had long been caught in the whirlwind of schemes happening within the court. He tried so hard to protect her only for her to end up being accused of something she didn't do; all because of greed and selfishness evident in the eyes of people, be they a noble or not.
He could only watch, unable to save her from the scorn of society who sided with the wrong people who proclaim in handing out justice to the wicked. They had even accused him strongly as the sole perpetrator responsible for all the wrong doings that the corrupt nobles were doing in the shadows.
Yet, he could only blame himself, he was too blinded to the things happening around him, and the truth was clearly within his sight but his ignorance resulted in both her and his death.
But his death didn't come for him before he opened his eyes to see himself back in the past.
To save you from those that condemned you, I will protect you even if it means hiding in the shadows, bearing all the harm that comes your way and letting someone be by your side to give you the long overdue happiness meant for you.

Her saving grace to stay alive and well? Well of course it is to befriend the two most prominent characters within her reach, the antagonist and the male lead. Both of which eventually would be roped into the heroine's harem, but if all went right then hopefully by then she wouldn't have anything to worry about. Unfortunately, her plan backfired some where along the way, and now she is faced with the heroine's silent wrath and jealousy, her pawns overprotectiveness, an adopted noble's persistence, family drama, and the ever enclosing end of the story.
